The Results Are In!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone that entered the first NYC Nom Nom giveaway.  There were 22 entries and 2 “shout out” entries. Here is the breakdown of which items were selected as reader favorites:

There was no outpouring of love for the Egg Poachers, “That’s My Pan,” Penzey’s Spices, the Peanut Butter Cup molds, nor Best Friends Cocoa, however, I’m sure that they just took a strong second place in your hearts.

And now onto the GIVEAWAY.

CONGRATULATIONS Cynthia!  According to her comment, she really wants (needs!) a Silpat and her site is tvoftheabsurd.com.  While not a silpat, the baking cups are still silicone and nonstick.  She also gets the honor of the super secret Axelrod Brownie Recipe.

Hallo Berlin

The sign said “Beer Garden.”  We were in.

We sat in the back of Hallo Berlin (44th Street and 10th Ave) during a nice fall night and got some beers the size of our heads and ate some German Food.

The potato pancakes needed a bit more crisping, but they were good.

I chose the weiner schnitzel.  It came with some very random sides.

Like soup…that I couldn’t eat… because it had peppers in it.

And pickled vegetables and beans… that I couldn’t eat… because they had peppers.

But the schnitzel? The schnitzel I ate… and it was good.

Overall, the idea of an “allergy” seems to mean that as long as there is 1 thing on the plate the person can eat, they’re fine.  Good thing the schnitzel was good.

I don’t think I’d go out of my way to go here, but it’s nice for the Beer Garden!
